We are a women’s Bible study ministry focused on helping women dig deep into Scripture, grow in faith, and build lasting community.
Based on 2 Timothy 2:15, WOW encourages each woman to become a faithful worker, rightly handling the Word of God.

A Legacy of Bible Study
WOW was founded by Lois Lindley in 1972 at Granada Heights Friends Church in La Mirada, CA. From a small group of 30 women studying Proverbs, it quickly grew. Lois went on to write studies covering nearly every book of the Bible. Today, her daughter and granddaughter continue her mission—equipping women around the world to know and apply God's Word.
How the Bible Study Works
WOW follows a proven, three-part format, based on Ecclesiastes 4:12:

- Individual Study
Each participant receives a five-day lesson to complete at home, developing a daily rhythm of Bible engagement. - Discussion & Fellowship
Women gather in small groups to share insights, pray, and encourage one another. One group is conducted in Spanish. - Teaching
A weekly teaching connects the dots, offers application, and reinforces what was studied during the week.
About the Ministry
Debbie Acton is administrator and one of the teachers of the WOW Ministry. For the past 18 years, she has had the privilege of walking through the Bible, book by book, with many women. Why doesn’t it get old? Because it’s the living Word of God—always fresh, always relevant.
Testimony of Faith
One participant shared that in 10 years with WOW, she had studied the entire Bible. That’s the heart of WOW: Women in the Word, consistently, purposefully, and together.
Statement of Faith
At WOW, We are grounded in truth. We believe:
- The Bible is the inspired, infallible, authoritative Word of God (2 Timothy 3:16-17).
- God exists eternally in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
- Jesus Christ is fully God and fully man, born of a virgin, sinless, crucified for our sins, resurrected, ascended, and will return as King.
Meeting Schedule
Tuesdays, September-May
Two sessions to choose from:
Morning Session: 9:30a.m.- 11:30a.m
1. Includes small groups, worship, and teaching
2. Nursery and homeschool classes available with RSVP
3. Spanish-speaking discussion group available
Evening Session: 7:00p.m.- 8:30p.m.
1. One combined group for discussion and teaching
2. Designed for working women
3. No Childcare provided

Fall 2025 (Sept 9 – Dec 9):
Study of the Gospel of Mark + a week-long Christmas study
→ Christmas Celebration on Dec 9
Spring 2026 (Jan 6 – May 5):
Study of 1 & 2 Peter, concluding with selected Psalms
